Bill Marinella started his film career as an actor, performing at the Cleveland school of the performing arts
It was there he was cast in the film Teachers directed by Academy award winning Arthur Hiller,,on a three-week acting job at the age of 16 years old, as Paller, the nemesis to Crispin Glovers character. The film starred Nick Nolte, and soon after he was cast in Paul Schraders Light of Day with Michael J Fox, and continued to work on features and commercials all over Ohio. Many years and many jobs later, he moved to Hollywood and became an extra's casting director, eventually leaping into principal casting and producing, where he continues to work his craft on features and high end short films. After Recently having 2 films two years in a row appear in Cannes and win sequentially the Remi Platinum Award at the Worldfest Houston International Film Festival, first in 2006 with Disposable, and then in 2007, with In the name of the son, which is a 2009 Oscar qualifying short , Marinella left Los Angeles for good after 13 years of hard work and finally decided on Baton Rouge La, to make his home where he recently became a resident and opened Acme Casting Company with producing partner Alicia Allain , most recently president of Robert Evans Company. Acme casting will cast local talent and bring Hollywood urgency to in state productions.
